In the world of sports it's always been said that it's best to go out on top. I feel pretty confident that I'm doing just that. I was selected by Gulfshore Life Magazine as the Best Guide In Lee County Florida for both 2014 and 2015.

I started the quest of beginning a charter fishing business almost 15 years ago and I made up my mind back then that I was going to treat it like a business and go for the fence. But then the monster called cancer stepped in and changed everything. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and my doctors at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa let me know that my charter fishing days were over. The bright side is I can still go fishing, I just can no longer do it as a business. To say I was saddened by this is an understatement. I will truly miss the interactions with my charter customers. I've made so many new friends and it's been fun to watch many of the youngsters grow up on my boat.

So my journey takes a new path. There are new opportunities at every turn and I will look to the future and pursue them. I will continue to do my fishing radio talk show for the local ESPN network here in Fort Myers and will also continue teaching fishing classes for Collier County and doing seminars for the many fishing clubs in the area. I've also formed a new company called SoulMate Communications. It's designed to help the small outdoor business to further its market share using social media, video and promotional films.

Most likely you arrived at this site looking for a fishing charter. No problem! I have great connections with a lot of fantastic guides and would be happy to supply you with contact names based on what type of fishing you'd like to do. Just send an email to me at captrobmodys@gmail.com and I'll do my best to match you up with the perfect guide for your needs.

Remember, you can't catch fish unless you have a line in the water and PLEASE take a kid fishing.
